Montana Woman Slaughtered a Siberian Husky Who She Claimed She Thought Was a Baby Wolf
A Montana woman slaughtered a Siberian Husky that she said she thought was a wolf and bragged about it online. The woman is now under investigation after posting a series of photos on Facebook showing the Siberian Husky that she shot, skinned, and then posed with the poor animal’s carcass.
The woman, Amber Rose, said that she thought the Siberian Husky was a baby wolf. She wrote on Facebook that it was a “great feeling” to text her “man” about the slaughter.
“So this morning I set out for a solo predator hunt for a fall black bear, however, I got the opportunity to take another predator wolf pup 2022,” Rose wrote. “Was a great feeling to text my man and say I just smoked a wolf pup.”
Immediately, people came running to the comments to point out what was so obvious to everyone: the animal was a dog and not a wolf. The bloody-skinned dog was lying lifeless in the back of a pickup truck. In one photo, Rose is smiling and holding the dog’s head up.
The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office opened an investigation into the killing, and Rose deleted her social media posts.
She later claimed that she opened fire because she thought that the animal was a “hybrid,” and she feared for her life. She admitted that she made a “mistake” but said that if she was in the situation again, even knowing what she knows now, she would still shoot the dog.
“I would still have shot it because it was aggressive and coming directly for me!” she wrote. “So please remove all your post thinking I just shot and killed someone’s pet!”
According to the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office’s Facebook, they were contacted by local citizens who picked up “several husky and shepherd mix dogs” and said that one might have been shot.
Animal abuse is more prevalent than many may think. According to PetPedia, every 60 seconds, an animal suffers from abuse, with more than 65 percent being dogs. More than 10 million animals die from abuse every year in the US alone, not including the livestock bred for consumption, who also suffer immense abuse. Animal abuse happens everywhere and is a serious issue. We need more laws to protect animals and hold abusers accountable.
