This guide provides a foolproof method for boiling and peeling eggs to guarantee perfect results every time.

Ingredients:

  • Fresh eggs (as many as needed)
  • Water
  • Ice

Instructions:

Boiling the Eggs:

  1. Place the eggs in a single layer at the bottom of a pot.
  2. Add enough cold water to cover the eggs by at least an inch.
  3. Heat the water over high heat until it reaches a vigorous boil.
  4. Once the water boils, cover the pot and turn off the heat.
  5. Let the eggs sit in the hot water for 12 minutes (adjust the time slightly based on egg size).

Cooling and Peeling:

  1. Fill a bowl with ice water.
  2. Immediately transfer the cooked eggs into the ice water and let them cool for at least 5 minutes.
  3. Gently tap each egg on a hard surface to crack the shell, then peel starting from the wider end, where an air pocket is often found.
  4. Rinse the peeled eggs under cold water to remove any remaining shell pieces.
