Kids found playing with injured cat in Ohio park. Now Squishy needs a permanent home

A cat with bright yellow eyes has been given a second chance at a happy life after a kind person found them injured in Ohio.

While Squishy was clearly in pain, she was found in a sweet way by a bystander, according to the Jefferson County Humane Society in Wintersville.

“I came to the shelter after someone found me in a park, soaking up all the love from the kids I met,” the shelter said in a Nov. 13 Facebook post from Squishy’s perspective. “I was really skinny and had a bad front leg, but after lots of care (and some yummy food!), I’ve put on some weight and had my leg removed.”

Squishy is not letting the loss of a limb slow her down, and her love for people has only grown stronger since being rescued.

“Now I’m rocking the three-legged life and doing great! I may not be a fan of other cats, but I think humans are just the cutest—I can’t get enough of them!” the shelter said. “I’m only one year old, and I’d love to find a cozy home where I can snuggle and be your best friend.”

Squishy won’t be available for adoption until Nov. 17, but she is spayed and up to date on her vaccinations.

People in the comment section, including her foster mother, sent Squishy love.

“She was the sweetest foster. Loves to cuddle. She did get along with my little Chihuahua who is blind,” her foster mom said.

“Beautiful tripod,” another noted.

Wintersville is about a 45-mile drive west from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
