This was my autistic son putting up his felt Christmas tree today.
Today, my son Mark, who is autistic, spent a wonderful afternoon setting up his own felt Christmas tree. He was so focused, putting each piece exactly where he wanted it, and he was beaming with pride once he was finished. But then, a few moments later, I noticed him sitting quietly, looking at his tree, and there were tears streaming down his face. When I gently asked him what was wrong, he turned to me and, in a small voice, said, “I’m sad because nobody will see my tree and all the hard work I have done.”
His words tugged at my heart, as I could feel the weight of his emotions and the pride he had in his creation. He worked so hard on every little detail, hoping to share it with others. And so, when he looked up at me with a hopeful expression and asked, “Could you please share it on Facebook?” I couldn’t have been prouder to say yes.
So, here it is—Mark’s amazing tree! I hope you’ll join me in sharing it, so he knows just how many people appreciate the love and effort he put into this beautiful little tree. It would mean the world to him. 😊
