A Private Log Cabin on the Lake!
This log cabin located in Cromwell, Minnesota has everything you need for a relaxing vacation away.
The beautiful log cabin is located on a private sunset-facing shoreline filled with classic details and many luxuries that will make your vacation stay memorable. The log cabin is located approximately 20 minutes west of Interstate 35 and is just two hours north of the Twin Cities, and about 1/2 hour from Duluth. The log cabin has one bedroom plus a loft. It can sleep up to six people with three queen-sized beds in two sleeping areas, with two beds in an open loft (accessible by a ladder) and one in the bedroom. There are three levels to the log cabin. The loft (ladder access), a window filled the main floor with kitchen/living space, and a stairway leading to a walk-out lower level with window/doors on three sides facing the lake.
You’ll want to note that while the log cabin can accommodate six people it is best for four or fewer guests.
The log cabin has a standard bathroom with a shower and toilet inside. During your vacation stay, you’ll enjoy lakeshore western views from over 1000 square feet of wraparound decks with two tables and chairs. There is also a sauna in a separate building, a wood stove, air conditioning, in-floor radiant heat, and a kitchen filled with high-end appliances. The cabin is located near three state parks to include Moose Lake, Jay Cook, and Savanna Portage, and less than five minutes from Fond Du Lac State forest with thousands of acres with endless ski, snowmobile, and hiking trails. There is a great fishing lake with over 300 acres and is connected to other local lakes, rivers, wetlands.
You’ll want to visit Jay Cooke State Park during your stay.
The park has trails that link up to the Willard Munger State Trail at the north edge of the park, perfect for backpackers, bikers (both mountain and tour), hikers, horseback riders, and skiers. You can check out the wildflowers in the spring, and the vivid colors in the fall. Walk on the swinging suspension bridge high above the raging St. Louis River.
Fond Du Lac State Forest is about 3 miles north of the cabin.
There are countless miles of trails for winter and summer use. Maps are available online. There is also a partially climbable fire tower. During your vacation stay, you might visit Duluth or Canal Park by the city on the lake. Visit the Lake Superior Maritime Museum, watch the ships come in, walk across the aerial lift bridge and out on the jetty to the lighthouses. End your day with a walk on the beach on Minnesota point (across the aerial lift bridge to the beach) on Minnesota’s youngest geological feature, the long spit of land.

You’ll also have access to 1000 square feet of decks, the sauna building, an outhouse, a hammock in its structure, outdoor picnic tables, chairs, firepit, dock, lakeshore.
