Campbell has always taken great pleasure in taking things apart and reassembling them to make something new. This land would serve as the foundation for the house he planned to construct for himself from an assortment of decommissioned cargo ships. Although Campbell thought he had designed a wholly unique residence, he later discovered that a building that was nearly exactly like his had already been constructed. Bruce Campbell found the Mississippi hairstylist Joanne Ussery almost twenty years after his proposal was conceived. She had transformed a Boeing 727 into her home. After her last home burned down, she decided to rebuild in the shape of a plane and move close to a serene river. After reconsidering, Campbell made the decision to alter his original strategy.
He made several other important changes to them as well. To view more photographs and learn more about Campbell’s airplane home, keep reading the story.
A Boeing 727

The difficulties of the scenario was increased by the necessity of transporting the plane all the way from Athens, Greece. After deducting the estimated $120,000 total cost of transportation, he paid $220,000 for the jet. However, he believed that the money he paid for the jet was a wise investment.
