Washington State Animal Sanctuary Lets You Cuddle And Play With Friendly Wolves.

You can find plenty of incredible things to do online. For example, we recently learned you can hang out with wolves!

Airbnb is offering a unique “Howling with Ambassadors” experience through a nonprofit in the Pacific Northwest called Predators of the Heart. For $200 (which all goes back to the animal sanctuary), adults can mingle with a pack of wolf dogs in what people have described as a “once in a lifetime” experience.

Predators of the Heart is located about an hour and a half north of Seattle, Washington, in a city called Anacortes. The sanctuary sits on over 10 acres of rural forest land and houses a wide variety of rescue animals, including cougars, bobcats, reptiles, and birds of prey. Ever since they were established in 1998, they’ve been working to educate people about wildlife.

“Our purpose is to develop care and concern for the animals,” they said. “We also serve as a sanctuary for animals that cannot be reintroduced to the wild and need a safe and healthy environment to live out the remainder of their lives.”

As part of the Howling with Ambassadors experience, visitors take a guided tour through the wolf sanctuary with seven of the younger “ambassadors in training.” They also get to spend one-on-one time with Max and Kakoa, two leash-free adult wolf ambassadors who are safe around humans.

Not only do guests get to learn about wolves and other animals, but they can also participate in a special photography area where they can touch and take selfies with their new wolf buddies.

You might be surprised at how silly these apex predators can be when belly rubs are involved!

Dr. Clive Wynne of Arizona State University said wolves in the wild would never get so close to humans, but “a wild animal can, with skill and patience, be raised to be willing to react in a friendly way towards humans.”

The global wolf population thrives in sparsely populated areas. Unfortunately, Wynne added, “In most parts of the globe with a significant human population, wolves are in a difficult situation and will need continuous protection from and by peoples.

These incredible tours book up quickly and have to be made well in advance, but so far more than 500 visitors have left enthusiastic reviews.

“We had an amazing experience,” wrote a visitor named Jennifer. “It was very interactive and informative. It made it even more special to know how much sacrifice was made to ensure these animals continue to have a sanctuary. I absolutely loved and look forward to coming back again and recommending others to experience this beautiful place.”

We don’t know about you, but we’re sold! What a great opportunity to get the most out of life while simultaneously supporting an animal sanctuary.
