Being a person in show business is hard, so people applaud celebrity couples who can balance their careers and marriage altogether.
Thankfully, American Actor and Television Host Terry Crews and his wife, Rebecca, are one of those few couples. Although their union has not been smooth sailing, the lovebirds have overcome the many ups and downs they have faced and are still together after three decades.

Crews and Rebecca first crossed paths in the 80s. At the time, the latter had just become Miss Gary Indiana and went to Western Michigan University to pursue a music and theatre career, while Crews was a footballer at the same school.
According to Rebecca, it was not love at first sight. During an interview with Entertainment news, the actor’s wife explained that at the beginning, she and her husband were only friends, and it almost remained that way. she told the outlet:

However, after a while, the sparks began to fly, and the couple soon started dating. By 1990, Crews and Rebecca had exchanged wedding vows. That same year, they expanded their family with the arrival of their first child, Azriel.
Over three decades later, the “America’s Got Talent” host and his wife are doting parents to five children. Here are more details about their inspiring relationship.
Crews and Rebecca’s Marital Struggles
Crews and Rebecca have gone through a lot over the three decades they have been together. From changes in careers to watching their kids grow up and losing their homes; to dealing with depression.

However, one difficulty that nearly tore their marriage apart was the former NFL player’s addiction to adult content. In a May 2021 interview, Crews made it known that being a celebrity made his addiction worse.
According to the “Everybody Hates Chris” star, success was the warmest place to hide, and Hollywood did not care. Crews noted that he battled the addiction in secret for the longest time, and it slowly ate him up. In his words:
“It became a thing where I didn’t tell anybody. It was my secret, nobody knew, and that allowed it to grow, and it got bad. If day turns into night and you are still watching, you probably got a problem, and that was me. I didn’t tell my wife, didn’t tell my friends, nobody knew.”

But in 2010, Crews opened up to his wife about his addiction to adult content. He also had something else to come clean about — his infidelity.
He again proved his love in 2020 when Rebecca was diagnosed with stage one breast cancer and underwent a double mastectomy.
Rebecca had already sensed that the actor was keeping secrets from her, but knowing what her husband had done was so heartbreaking that it nearly cost them their marriage.

She confronted Crews following the revelation and threatened to leave. At that point, the actor knew he needed to get help. So, Crews made conscious efforts to save his marriage. He promised Rebecca he would attend therapy and go to rehab for his addiction. Thankfully, his time in rehab was worth it, as it made Crews a changed man.
Years later, the actor would reveal that he was thankful for his decision, despite contrary advice from his friends. According to the icon, his single pals had advised him to quit his marriage, but in due time, he understood that their advice was from the point of jealousy.
Crews and Rebecca’s Thoughts on Adoption
Crews and Rebecca are intentional parents to Naomi, Azriel, Tera, Wynfrey, and Isaiah. But despite already having a big family, the couple does not mind welcoming a sixth child through adoption.

Rebecca told Us Weekly in 2016 that adoption was a topic she and Crews had discussed when they first married. According to the actor’s wife, it was something she always felt called to do, and Crews could not agree any less.
He noted that he had always felt they needed to be ready before adopting, but in the end, no one is “ever ready.” To the couple, they will have to go for it.

As long as they have each other, they can weather any storm, as they have always done in the past. Speaking of having each other’s backs, Crews could not be more grateful for having Rebecca as a wife.
She has been with him, even during his darkest times, and Crews feels blessed. He once told Entertainment Tonight that there was nothing like “having someone who knows you in and out, all the stuff, and loves you anyway.” Ultimately, considering everything they had been through together, Crews said Rebecca was “his rock.“
Inside Rebecca’s Cancer Diagnosis and Crews’ Show of Love
Since Crews became a changed man, he has shown his wife how much he loves, cares, and is willing to do anything for her. He again proved his love in 2020 when Rebecca was diagnosed with stage one breast cancer and underwent a double mastectomy. During that trying period, the television host did everything possible to make life easier and better for his wife.

Crews confessed that he had been the one washing Rebecca’s hair, taking care of her, making dinner, doing the laundry, and cleaning the house.
Despite how tedious it might have been, the actor said he was thankful for being able to do all that. According to him, what was most important to him was that Rebecca was alive.

Two years later, the former NFL player’s wife is still alive and is a hundred percent cancer free. She and Crews are also happier and stronger than ever.
Seeing everything that the couple has been through, Rebecca is still thankful. She says her husband is different and sees him as the softer, gentler, and kinder version of himself.
